Jan. 30 – March 6: Yellowstone Variations: Ways Travelers Experienced Wonderland. A Wonderlust Course sponsored by the Montana State University Extended University.The class will meet for six consecutive Wednesday afternoons from 2:30 to 4:30. Each session will explore a period of Yellowstone travel beginning with mountain man era in the early 1800′s and ending with the Model T era a century later. More Detail as things develop.

May 19, 1 p.m., Jefferson Country Museum, Clancy, MT: ”Sidesaddles and Geysers.”
MAY 9, 3-4 p.m., Aspen Point, Bozeman: Smart Women asked me back for another presentation. I’ll talked on the topic, “The Summer of 1877: The Nez Perce in Yellowstone Park.” You can read about my presentation to Smart Women in 2011.
April 29: Sheridan, Montana: I’ll reprisd “Sidesaddles and Geysers” at the Sheridan Public Library where I presented a couple of years ago. I’ve found lots of good stuff since then so it was fun to assemble a whole new program.
April 25, Eureka Montana: Under the auspices of the Sunburst Foundation, I’ll present my Humanities Montana Program, “Sidesaddles and Geysers” — to schools in the afternoon and to the public in the evening. I make the presentations distinct so students will be able to enjoy both shows.
April 24, 6:30 p.m., Troy Montana: I’ll be presenting my Humanities Montana program, “Sidesaddles and Geysers,” at Troy under the auspices of the Lincoln County Libraries.
April 12, 6 p.m.: Big Sky, Montana Book Awards Reception: Awards ceremony in the Madison Room of Huntley Lodge for winner the 2011 winners of the Montana Book Award and Honor Books. I enjoyed meeting the authors. You can read about the winner and honor books here.
March 24, Ennis Public Library: Humanities Montana presentation, “Sidesaddles and Geysers.” I gave it local flavor by talking about the town’s founder, William Ennis, who took his family to see the geysers in Yellowstone Park in 1873s.
March 6, 6:30 p.m., Danforth Gallery, Livingston: Humanities Montana presentation, “Sidesaddles and Geysers.” i localized it by taking about the Livingston Northern Pacific Depot and Bottler’s Ranch.
January 1 & 2, 7 p.m., Snow Lodge Gift Shop: Yellowstone National Park — I’ll launch 2012 at the Snow Lodge near Yellowstone Park’s famous Old Faithful Inn on January 1 and 2. I’m planning a different program of readings from my collection of tales of early travel to the park each evening. Also, I’ll be available to sign copies of my book, “Adventures in Yellowstone: Early Travelers Tell Their Tales.”

June 17, 8 p.m., Beavertail State Park: Presentation of my Humanities Montana Program, “Sidesaddles and Geysers: Women’s Adventures in Early Yellowstone.” The presentation will be part of a 12-week series on Women in Montana History.Beavertail Hill State Park is 26 miles south east of Missoula off Interstate 90.
April 6, 7 p.m., Hardback Cafe, Hastings Bookstore, Billings: I’ll talk about the 2010 Montana Book Awards. If you’re in Billings for the Montana Library Association Meeting (or any other reason), stop by for your favorite beverage and discussion of some great new books.
April 7, 6-7:30 p.m., MSU Billings Library: I’ll be a presenter for the Montana Book Award at and author reception during the annual Montana Library Association Conference.
April 9, 10:45-12:15, Prospector Room, Billings Convention Center: I’ll be a panelist for “Rousing Reads,” a discussion of books considered for the Montana Book Award during the annual Montana Library Association Conference in Billings.
April 12, 7 p.m., Country Bookshelf, Bozeman: Presentation on “The Best Montana Books of 2010. I’ll be discussing the winner and honor books chosen for the Montana Book Award.
